Coworker’s badass jeep bit the dust down in my neck of the woods. In his words “the rotating assembly didn’t want to be in the block any more”. Driving along the highway and a rather loud (by which I mean “deafening”) knock started coming from the engine. Pull over and look at the coolant and the fluctuating level revealed a serious headgasket leak. Should be good for a couple miles to home, right? Nah, two blocks further and the engine locked itself up HARD. Though with 300,000 miles on the original drivetrain... not bad. Some guy offered him $3k for it as-is along with another parts truck. I shall continue to mourn and remain hopeful that this badass shitfest of a vehicle will hopefully live again.

Can probably get another engine for $500.

Yeah, but he would rather sell it and consolidate his cars down to a couple from the five or six he has now

Was that the 5.2 or the 4.0? That is a heck of a lot of miles for either - used every bit of it up. Congrats.
